Weekend in the mountains of Arthur’s Pass

We have discovered that you never go away over the Easter weekend, because this is when the bad weather comes in force. At least that’s what we had come to experience over time. Because of this, this is definitely not the time to go camping – again from experience.

Dismal attempt at Levitation

What started out as a simple tramp to a nice spot in the forest where we could eat lunch, quickly turned into an unexpected attempt at me trying to levitate in the air. Unfortunately poor practice, bad placement of body and gravity were all working against me.

Being the ultimate handyman

I suppose there are a million reasons as to why I have the ability to create my own words. Perhaps it’s the high IQ – simply being so more intelligent,  perhaps it’s because I battle with the English language that I find making my own words easier than using the correct ones. What ever the reason may be, I have decided that I am an improvimation handyman.

… are often blown out of the water by the smallest of detail. Such as in our case, the weight of the new aviary.

The trappings of a good plan

Realising that time is quickly running out before my Geckos arrive (even though it’s a few weeks away, at best guess), I decided to work on my moth trap. On the weekend, when I tried it, the moths fluttered into the trap and then straight out again.

It’s safe to say that although things are progressing on the Foundation front, it’s still frustrating to see how slowly things are progressing. This is no fault of anyone, other than the fact that our bank manager continues to insist that we have to work to pay off our financial debts. So it means that evenings and weekends are the only times we have to do on our things.

Movement

Well after some interesting conversations with the owner of my previously hosted blog, I have decided to, as he said and I quote, “move to a real blog”.

What it does mean is that I no longer have the joy of keeping my files and blog at the same location, however that is not too much of a problem as WordPress has a neat little widget with a file sharing server at Box.Net.

Grayii Geckos

On Thursday night I figured that it was time to write another blog entry. At the time I was looking to write something around a novel that I have in the crevices of my mind.

However this all changed on Friday when I opened my email. There was an email from my contact person at the department of conservation. My permit to house geckos had been approved! Yeehhaaaaaa.

Time waits for no-one
